I used to think it was a terrible thing if you wore the same thing all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love to style new outfits, but it's actually a good thing that I repeat so many of them. I've been so dedicated to cleaning out and downsizing my closet and so far, so good. I have a weird attachment to some of these items that I haven't worn since college (btw, I graduated over three years ago... #yikes), and it's quite liberating to let go of the things I just don't need or wear anymore.
As a result, my wardrobe is so much more cohesive and versatile. I don't feel so overwhelmed when I go to choose an outfit for the day, and there's so many opportunities to mix and match what I already have... which prevents me from those all-too-real impulse buys from fast-fashion stores, that I end up wearing once (if that) and then tossing.
My style has also become a lot more cohesive, too. I've definitely found a groove with it, and it's so much easier for me to nail what I like and what I don't, as well as what looks fit me best. If I were to describe it, it's a little boho chic, a little bit feminine with some retro vibes. And, of course, I'm super inspired by living in Florida with all the sunshine and pops of color, giving it a more whimsical feel.
I think this outfit is a perfect representation of that. It's easy, comfy and effortless, elevated with my signature hat and a pair of statement sunnies. Not surprisingly, this romper has been one of my most-worn pieces this summer, too.
With fall just around the corner (jokes, I wish), I'm already looking for new pieces to incorporate into my current wardrobe to make them more seasonally-appropriate, which can be quite the challenge since the weather down here won't be cooling off anytime soon. I'll be sharing some of those finds with you and how to dress for fall when it still feels like summer so soon, so stay tuned!
